BASIC FUNCTION
The Facilities Technician provides essential facilities-related support to a Company office location. This individual is responsible for the general upkeep of the office, coordinating and overseeing vendor/contractor performance when appropriate, and assisting with maintaining a secure and safe environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepares requisitions, stocks, and maintains kitchen, coffee, and office supplies in common areas in a timely manner, while optimizing storage.
- Maintains supply inventory.
- Obtains approvals for and coordinates the delivery of company-approved specialty orders as necessary.
- Provides office support and coordination, including preparing conference rooms, training rooms, events, and meetings, involving the placement and proper handling of furniture and equipment.
- Coordinates the placement of new hires, temporary workers, contractors, and relocations with Information Technology and Human Resources for timely execution, ensuring Company seating protocol is maintained.
- Ensures visitors have access to workstations and are provided with security access cards as appropriate.
- Performs regular audits of facilities, and provides recommendations for resolution of substandard issues or discrepancies. Counsels with the Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with office leases and/or rules and regulations.
- Responsible for all basic maintenance of the office facility, including office housekeeping, sanitation, and cleanliness. Performs minor repairs, and moves furniture when necessary.
- Responds to internal service requests via the Service Desk, and coordinates with Building Services regarding HVAC, lights, kitchenettes and restrooms (plumbing, cleaning, and repair), general and specific janitorial needs, and spot carpet cleaning utilizing building
- Accompanies and oversees vendor personnel engaged in the installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment, and ensures final results meet business requirements.
- Coordinates contractor use of freight/docks with Property Management.
- Reviews and ensures the accuracy of vendor work orders pertaining to facility activities, and ensures information is accurate and complete. This position does not have the authority for payment.
- Participates in safety management training and procedures, including the coordination of floor wardens.
- Ensures first aid and disaster recovery supplies are monitored and replenished as needed.
- Responds promptly to reported emergencies in a critical manner, adhering to established company disaster protocols.
- Assists with the review of employee self-evaluation ergonomic assessments, and coordinates the purchase of specialty equipment with Human Resources.
- Performs other projects as assigned.

- FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE – Develops and maintains an understanding of Company protocols and procedures relating to facility maintenance. Demonstrates the technical know-how needed to perform minor repairs.
- ORGANIZING & PLANNING – Effectively manages multiple tasks, prioritizing those that are most critical and/or time-sensitive and reassessing priorities throughout the day. Effectively utilizes internal tools and resources to keep track of task progress. Plans ahead to ensure coordination of new hires, vendors/contractors, etc. is completed on or before deadlines.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk entering information into a computer and reading information presented on a computer monitor and on paper. The employee is regularly required to use hands for various projects and responsibilities and is also regularly required to talk and hear on the telephone and in direct conversation. The employee will frequently walk, stand, and bend. The employee will frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE – Minimum of high school diploma, or equivalent certificate, required. Minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS – Able to read and interpret technical procedures and building rules and regulations. Able to write reports and business correspondence. Able to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- MATH SKILLS – Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to raw and interpret bar graphs.
- REASONING SKILLS – Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- TECHNICAL SKILLS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must have familiarity with basic hand tools to complete minor office and kitchen-related repairs and familiarity with workstation parts and structures.
- COMPUTER SKILLS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate basic technical competencies in the use of computers, standard business applications, and Microsoft Office/365 applications and be able to master and become proficient in proprietary and vended software programs.
