Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, is looking for an IT Service Management Program Owner (Communication & Organizational Change Management) to define and execute a comprehensive communications program for the IT Service Management initiative. As a champion for change management, this individual will work closely with our Marketing Communications team leveraging multiple communication channels (written, visual, digital, electronic) to create impactful communications supporting internal service initiatives and increasing employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Continually improves comprehensive communication strategies for the IT Service Management program, including identifying target audiences and appropriate communication channels, with the goal of increasing awareness of IT services and value to the organization.  Drives messaging and narrative development utilizing a variety of communication channels. 
    • Ensures production of high-quality products that effectively deliver the desired message within budget and time constraints.
    • Implements multi-media communication plans to keep employees informed of new tools and processes to minimize productivity disruption.  Prepares employees for changes with precise, clear communications, branding strategies, and easy-to-follow training materials.
    • Provides guidance for managing end user acceptance to changes and adoption of new tools and processes.
    • Provides needs analysis to ensure training and reporting has clear and appropriate objectives. Assists Process Owners in the creation of training materials, user guides, quick reference guides and executive dashboards.  Coordinates training for teams interacting with IT Operations (e.g. Development.)
    • Implements communications effectiveness research methods such as surveys, interviews, and other feedback mechanisms.
    • Works with cross-functional partners in IT Operations, Development, Cyber Security, and others to develop and refine communications content to ensure a clear and consistent voice for the program.
    • Proactively researches, recommends, and implements new/emerging intranet, SharePoint, web design and storytelling technologies and solutions. Experiments with various communications mediums to help keep content fresh and interesting.
    • Develops templates and standards for communications deliverables.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: B.A / B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Communications preferred.
    • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience developing and/or coordinating internal communication within an Information Technology organization regarding change or transformation initiatives.  
    • Organizational Acumen: A minimum of 8 years of experience working with and for senior executives (e.g., VP-level).  In addition, this person must possess an innate sense of experience management and an understanding of how to optimize it through all aspects of this role.
    • Technical Skills: Adept at translating technical knowledge (e.g., Information Technology) into compelling and easily consumable content. Cloud experience preferred. Expertise in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Co-Pilot, and Generative AI (e.g., Chat GPT or equivalent).  Expertise with social media tools; familiar with best practices. Strong working knowledge of audio and video conferencing methods and tools. Prosci organizational change management training or certification is desirable.
