As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Big Health, you will be a critical member of our Engineering team and develop systems for the digital therapeutics (DTx) platform. You will have the opportunity to influence technology decisions and backend systems as we optimize the product and scale our digital therapeutics platform.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Architect and implement backend services & systems that meet novel healthcare and business needs
    • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data analysts to prioritize and enhance the systems and apps for internal stakeholders and patients
    • Work with engineers to understand and impact how data is designed, produced, and validated while influencing product and decisions with data
    • Implement new technologies, system designs and best practices in code health, testing, observability, and service maintainability
    • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning

Required Skills and Experience:

    • You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in building and shipping backend services and systems
    • You have 4+ years of experience developing applications and services in Python and/or other Object Oriented Programming Languages
    • You have very strong communication skills and can collaborate effectively with engineers, product, and business stakeholders 
    • You have worked deploying and operating services in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS
    •  You are knowledgeable about data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques with hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and columnar databases (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, HBase)

$145,000 - $190,000 a year
Please note that the compensation details listed above in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Additional compensation may include benefits, variable pay, discretionary bonuses and equity.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
