Experience Architect

Rocket Wagon is looking for an Experience Architect (UX/IA) to join our team of designers, strategists, developers, and architects and help with client-facing application design. Rocket Wagon works within the space between product strategy and interaction development and with a broad spectrum of clients, from high-profile startups to publicly traded companies on UX design projects ranging from mobile devices to web applications.

Responsibilities

    • Work alongside strategy team to define target audiences' needs, tasks and goals and translate them into creative information architect concepts
    • Collaborate with strategy and visual UI design teams to brainstorm and validate experience design concepts
    • Participate in user research, concept testing and usability testing
    • Understand and utilize usability guidelines and design patterns
    • Organize content into logical categories; and develop structural designand establish the foundation of information access and functional relationships at the site- and page-level
    • Produce site maps, application maps, workflows, functional specifications and interactive or static wireframes to communicate architecture and experience
    • Contribute to overarching UX strategy, by identifying how the proposed application architecture, features, functionality and navigation reflect the strategy and audience objectives
    • Keep abreast of trends and best practices in interactive design, rich media and information design; share these lessons with team members and management
    • Provide competitive analysis of IA and functional design, as appropriate
    • Guide and be a resource for other information architects in their project roles

Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5+ years experience in Web and mobile application architecture design for interactive mediums (e.g., information architect, interaction designer or experience designer)
    • Advanced knowledge of architecture software programs (e.g., Axure, OmniGraffle, InDesign, Illustrator and similar)
    • Experience building and rapidly iterating on interactive prototypes
    • Experience thoroughly annotating and documenting wireframe designs
    • Range of concepting ability, from sketching to high-fidelity prototypes
    • Expert-level familiarity with design patterns for mobile, tablet and Web
    • Excellent organizational, presentation and verbal and written communication skills.
    • An extremely detail-oriented and flexible mindset, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive schedules (and while juggling multiple projects)
