About the role:
Billfold is looking for a part-time RFID Specialist to travel to events and festivals (in NYC and globally) to set up Billfold’s solutions. RFID Specialists are expected to set up the system, train on-site event staff, and problem-solve any issues that occur while onsite. The RFID Specialist will report to the Deployment Manager. The role is an events-based job and therefore we cannot offer a set schedule. 

What you’ll do
- Train our client’s staff on how to use and configure our equipment and solution
- Maintain and monitor Billfold’s equipment in local NYC venues 
- Troubleshoot technical issues and answer client’s questions 
- Assist the warehouse manager with inventory management, hardware assembly, and shipping and receiving equipment.

About you 
You enjoy events and are looking to pick up additional work. You understand that live events are subject to change (e.g.,  call times, locations, and equipment needs) and are highly adaptable. You’re comfortable working and enjoy being in varying weather conditions and environments as many of our events are outside. You enjoy working with new people and communicating with a variety of personalities. You’re tech-savvy and enjoy teaching others new tips and tricks. 

Required Qualifications

    • 1+ years of experience in hospitality or live events. 
    • Strong aptitude for technical software products (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace). 
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to travel locally (NYC) and globally to events. 

Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficient with applicable software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Strong aptitude for technical software products
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 
    • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time 
    • Ability to work in inclement weather

Compensation

    • The base pay for this role will be $20/hr.
    • The pay will be $23/hr for on-site deployment events.
