Responsibilities

    • Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of regulatory matters specific to the Australian market, including licensing, compliance, and regulatory developments impacting the company’s operations locally and across the APAC region.
    • Draft, review, and submit regulatory filings, strategic plans, and responses to regulatory inquiries to Australian regulatory authorities such as ASIC, AUSTRAC, and other relevant bodies.
    • Support the development and implementation of the company’s long-term regulatory strategy in Australia, ensuring alignment with global and regional compliance frameworks.
    • Monitor and interpret changes in Australian laws and regulations related to financial services, cryptocurrency, fintech, and related sectors to proactively advise business teams and ensure ongoing compliance.
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including compliance, risk, and business teams, to embed regulatory best practices and mitigate legal risks.
    • Manage and contribute to the APAC legal and compliance program with a focus on Australian regulatory requirements.
    • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on regulatory obligations and emerging legal issues in Australia.

Requirements

    • Qualified and admitted to practice law in Australia.
    • 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a strong focus on regulatory, investigations or litigation experience within Australia.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
