The Laboratory Support Technician | Purchasing Agent is responsible for laboratory support and purchasing for Operations. This includes processing purchase orders with vendors, matching packing slips with purchase orders, and overall tracking of reagent receipts in NetSuite. This person will also work closely with finance to resolve any outstanding issues with invoices. He or she also is responsible for assisting with monitoring and maintenance of laboratory supplies; orders, tracks, stocks, and maintains the laboratories with the appropriate lab reagents, consumables, equipment and glassware; and is responsible for assisting with laboratory maintenance and equipment maintenance as needed
Essential Responsibilities - Lab Maintenance and Equipment
- Process all purchase orders for Operations. Order, match packing slips, receive in NetSuite purchasing software. Work with finance to close out invoices
- Assists with monitoring and maintaining laboratory supplies
- Order, track, stock, and maintain the laboratories with the appropriate lab reagents, consumables, equipment and glassware
- Consolidates boxes and Styrofoam for discard/recycle
- Assists with restocking and keeping up with general supplies
- Assists in maintaining a high level of housekeeping within the laboratories
- Stores clean glassware; washes dirty glassware if needed
- Checks for expired reagents and consumables
- Escorts/helps biohazard, calibration, and other service vendors
- Sets up, maintains, and troubleshoots general laboratory equipment
- Assist in the generation, revision, and/or review of laboratory or equipment-related SOPs and other quality documents

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Education/Experience
- High school diploma
- Not less than two (2) years’ experience in a laboratory environment or related experience, preferably in a GLP, GMP, or regulated facility
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Well organized with ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously; ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Credentials
- Associate degree in biology, biotechnology, or related field with not less than one (1) year experience in a laboratory environment or related experience, preferably in a GLP, GMP, or regulated facility
Working Environment
- Primarily office
- Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets
- Personal protective equipment required, such as protective eyewear, garments, and gloves
- Exposure to fluctuating temperatures on rare occasions

Physical Demands
- Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for up to eight (8) hours per day
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate office and lab equipment
- Frequent mobility needed
- Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects, including office equipment, lab equipment, and laptop computer, with a maximum lift of 40 pounds
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software
- Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups
- Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence
- Ability to perform under stress and multi-task
- Regular and consistent attendance
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
- Occasional weekend, holiday, and evening work required
$22 - $24 an hour
