Bioenergy Devco is seeking an experienced Anaerobic Digestion Plant Manager or a Plant Manager from a similar process plant background such as wastewater, waste management, energy, oil and gas, chemical or food and beverage.  The Plant Manager is responsible for full operational and administrative oversight at our Maryland Bioenergy Center facility. It includes a wastewater treatment unit and anaerobic digestion plant utilizing food waste to produce biomethane. This role oversees all process performance and safety, operational personnel, permit compliance, P&L and facility budget. This position reports to the the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in all activities related to the startup of the facility
    • Direct daily activities related to the safe and efficient operation of the facility
    • Manage all operational staff and assist in the recruitment of new staff
    • Produce and manage documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
    • Prepare weekly reports with Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
    • Being accountable and responsible for the facility P&L
    • Review and approve operational and capital purchases
    • Ensure permit compliance with air, waste and stormwater
    • Communicate with State and Federal Inspectors or Auditors
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reports
    • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and book work orders
    • Prepare and provide staff training on operations and safety
    • Provide facility tours and other small presentations
    • Coordinate meetings amongst a variety of internal and external partners to achieve goals
    • Collaborate with Engineering and Construction team on a variety of projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Several years' management experience, of both personnel and process plant facilities
    • Experience and demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the operation of AD facilities or similar process plant
    • Maryland Operator Level I-5a Wastewater Treatment Operators License ideal. Proven experience managing  wastewater operations.
    • Technical degree in science or engineering, preferred
    • General knowledge with heavy equipment operations such as front-end loaders and skid steers
    • Familiarity with instrumentation and controls, and SCADA systems
    • Familiarity with pumps, compressors, agitators, depackagers, conveyors, separators, flares and gas blowers.
    • Confident public speaker to assist in staff training and facility tours
    • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely both orally and in writing
    • Competent with technology and the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
$130,000 - $150,000 a year
Based on experience in industrial production with waster water management component.
Physical Requirements
 Mobility to stand, sit, walk, stoop, twist, bend, climb ladders, crawl, balance, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
