The Manager, Data Engineering role will lead our data engineering team in building and maintaining high quality data assets, tools, and processes to empower internal and external customers. This is an execution-focused role, tasked with ensuring the company is building a high-quality, scalable, and sustainable data infrastructure, that can adapt to new data sources and serve all data consumers. This role will work cross-functionally with the Data Science, Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure our data consumers can assess clinical situations and make data-driven decisions.
What you will be doing
- Leading the data engineering team to build top-tier data assets and analytics tools
- Drive continuous improvement in data engineering practices and processes.
- Fully owning our data platform, from logging to consumption by end users as well as all the internal and external tools in between
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data warehousing solutions.
- Driving team prioritization with a focus on driving business value by reducing time to insight
- Creating the right team processes, structure, and systems to build and maintain high-quality code that powers our data infrastructure
- Establishing and enforcing data governance and compliance policies and procedures
- Promoting data quality, integrity, and security across the organization
What you need
- 5+ years of experience as a technical contributor in data infrastructure and data / analytics-related roles
- BA/BS in Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. MS Preferred
- A strong foundation in data modeling, transforming business requirements into effective schemas
- Strong experience with big data technologies such as Spark (Databricks), and Kafka (Confluent).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and ETL processes.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency with industry-standard reporting tools such as Qlik, QuickSight, or similar.
- An ability to communicate effectively with technical team members, analysts, and executives
- An interest and ability to dive into the details of problems to resolve communication, ownership, data modeling, and other challenges
- A strong bias for action and execution
- Experience with data/privacy laws in healthcare (e.g. HIPAA)
$175,000 - $220,000 a year
