Director of FP&A

Position Summary
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of FP&A will build and lead an FP&A organization that is a strategic thought partner to the business while also establishing effective planning, forecasting and reporting processes that scale with our growth. This is a high visibility role where you will prepare presentations and provide strategic advice and support for executive staff, including the CEO, CFO and BOD.  

Essential Responsibilities

    • Leads the company’s financial planning efforts, including the annual budget and financial forecasts for functional expense and capital budgets
    • Develop clear & accurate corporate-wide reporting that effectively communicates financial results, planning expectations and outcomes; analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to senior leadership
    • Act as primary business partner to various departments, including senior level executives; deliver insights and recommendations for data driven decision making
    • Support the Accounting team in close procedures and processes
    • Lead and implement an FP&A tool
    • Complete monthly/quarterly budget vs. actual variance analysis and drive accountability
    • Performing ad hoc financial analysis to support key business decisions

Education and Experience Requirements

    • B.S./B.A. required; MBA/CPA preferred
    • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in FP&A roles, including previous experience in a corporate FP&A function. Experience in the biotechnology or the life science industry preferred
    • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in presentations to multiple levels within the organization
    • Proven experience as a strategic business partner to C-Suite and other senior level executives
    • Strong project management and organizational skills including the ability to coordinate FP&A activities across multiple regions, platforms, and functions
    • Robust understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, P&L management and GAAP accounting principles
    • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Suites. Knowledge of MS Teams is a plus
    • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented leader with exceptional organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills
