BIS Safety Software is a fast-growing technology company providing leading software for the safety industry. We are looking to add a tech-savvy Marketing Generalist to our expanding team.
Founded in 2006, BIS is proudly headquartered in Sherwood Park, Alberta. We have developed a world class software solution by emphasizing client relationships and continuous innovation, and we are looking to continue our growth across North America and around the world.
In this role, you will help bring our brand to life across a variety of channels and community touchpoints. We're looking for someone who can confidently manage and troubleshoot our WordPress site, ensuring it runs smoothly and looks sharp. This isn't a development-heavy position but you should feel at home in both the front-end and back-end of WordPress. Your ownership, ability to problem-solve independently, and attention to the visual presentation of content will make you a standout.
Our ideal teammate has a great sense for how content should look and function, knows WordPress inside and out, and can take initiative, while also supporting broader marketing activities like social media, SEO, design, and events when needed.
This is an in-person role based in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Want to stand out? Grab our attention and be creative with your application.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Serve as the go-to webmaster for all BIS websites, ensuring functionality, performance, and visual consistency
- Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress issues at both the front-end (layout, formatting, responsiveness) and back-end (plugins, hosting, integrations)
- Maintain and update website content using Elementor, custom CSS, plugins, and other tools
- Review, refine, and enhance web content for clarity, flow, and visual appeal—you’ll know what looks “off” and how to make it better
- Support the planning, promotion, and execution of events—from small in-person gatherings to webinars and virtual sessions
- Assist with the production and promotion of our podcast, including scheduling guests, uploading content, and sharing episodes
- Collaborate with internal teams to create and launch marketing campaigns, emails, and related assets
- Use AI tools and new technologies to improve marketing efficiency, content quality, and overall impact
- Provide hands-on support across a wide range of general marketing initiatives—from planning to execution
You might be the right fit if you:
- Have solid hands-on experience as a webmaster, you know WordPress front-end and back-end and can fix issues independently
- Possess a strong eye for design and content presentation, your standards are high, and you can tell when something doesn’t feel right
- Thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments, and bring strong communication skills to team projects and cross-functional work.
- Are a self-starter who takes initiative, identifies opportunities, and enjoys solving problems without waiting for instructions.
- Welcome feedback and use it as a tool for personal and professional growth.
- Are quick to adopt new technologies and tools, driving AI and other automation opportunities to enhance modern marketing workflows.
- Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and in conversation, across a range of audiences.
- Have experience supporting events, including planning logistics, managing registrations, and helping with promotion for both virtual and in-person formats.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics, or other marketing platforms
- Experience in B2B or SaaS environments
