Sherwood Park, Alberta

Full-time /
On-site
At BIS Safety Software, we’re a fast-paced tech company on a mission to help keep people safe at work. We do that by building powerful software solutions that make compliance, training, and safety management easier for millions of people around the world. As we grow, we’re looking for a purpose-driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People & Culture team.
Why this role matters
This isn't your typical HR gig. At BIS, we know that great teams don’t happen by accident — they’re intentionally built. Your role is to help us find and keep amazing people who share our values and drive our mission forward. You’ll be the face of our hiring experience and a champion of team culture, helping to ensure every team member feels seen, supported, and set up for success.
What makes BIS different
At BIS, we invest in people — not just roles. You’ll join a collaborative, values-driven team where your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work has real impact.
We care more about what you can do than where you learned to do it. If you’ve led hiring efforts, helped build a team of superstars, or worn multiple hats in a fast-moving environment — we want to hear from you.
This role is an in-person position in our Sherwood Park office.
What you'll own and achieve
- Attract and hire exceptional people. Lead full-cycle recruitment — from job postings and screening to interviews and offers — matching great people with roles where they thrive.
- Deliver unforgettable onboarding. Assist with the design and delivery of onboarding experiences that build excitement, increase early engagement, and accelerate productivity.
- Fuel a culture of connection. Support a healthy, inclusive team environment through recognition programs, feedback loops, and engagement initiatives.
- Champion compliance and integrity. Maintain accurate records, stay ahead of changes in legislation, and ensure everything we do is aligned with employment standards and ethical best practices.
- Use data to drive better hiring. Leverage HR tech and analytics to improve our recruiting efforts, measure success, and share insights that support smarter decision-making.
- Celebrate people and amplify values. Lead employee recognition efforts that shine a light on wins, strengthen team spirit, and reflect the heart of who we are.
Who you are
- You’re someone who brings positive energy, practical experience, and a heart for people.
- You identify talent. You intuitively understand people’s strengths and how they’ll fit into a team or role.
- You’re a culture builder. You create spaces of trust and collaboration — where people can show up fully and aren't afraid to speak their mind.
- You communicate with clarity and care. Whether welcoming new hires or coaching a manager, you engage thoughtfully and with purpose.
- You’re curious and adaptable. You love learning, embrace change, and get energized by solving new challenges.
- You make things happen. You don’t wait for permission — you take initiative, prioritize well, and follow through.
- You’re tech-savvy. ATS, SharePoint, Excel — you’re comfortable in digital tools and always looking for ways to work smarter.
- You live our core values. Integrity, humility, and compassion aren’t just words — they’re how you lead, collaborate, and show up every day.
What you bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in recruiting, onboarding, or HR functions
- Experience using HR tools like ATS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint)
- A track record of owning projects and driving results in a collaborative team environment
- Knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards or the Canada Labour Code is an asset, but not required
- Formal HR education or designation is also a nice to have, but not a need to have
$60,000 - $65,000 a year
Salary ranges are based on experience, reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role.
