Your mission
We are looking for a junior backend Software Engineer to join the Search squad, where you will specifically focus on Search users' experience in our product. Your role will be to contribute to delivering a scalable and reliable Search aggregation platform.
Your responsibilities
- Participating in the design, development and maintenance of our Java microservices that serves search queries on the BlaBlaCar platform
- Participating in the whole application lifecycle, meaning: early meetings, design, development, test strategy, deployment to production, observability and support
- Developing your skills around a sensitive element of the BlaBlaCar infrastructure
- Participate in the definition of the features with the product and design teams to find the most relevant solutions for our membersInteracting with people with different roles and backgrounds, and sharing your technical expertise with a mix of technical, product and business experts
What's make you a great fit
- You have a first experience in Java and its frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito.
- You know what service-oriented architecture looks like, and you can determine when to apply a given architectural pattern.
- You have good communication skills, you’re humble, and you are a team player with a sense of humor
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Some knowledge or prior experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Datadog is a plus.
