Blanc Labs seeks a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst (BA) for a pivotal 6-month project within our banking and financial technology portfolio. This role is integral to the development and enhancement of core banking platforms, focusing on delivering high-quality, detailed user stories, process flows, and contributing significantly to both user experience and technical solutions.
Project Overview:
In this dynamic role, the Senior BA will be key in bridging business needs with technical implementations, facilitating detailed documentation, and ensuring seamless communication across project teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply with a project poised to make significant impacts within the banking sector, requiring a candidate with exceptional analytical skills, technical proficiency, and a collaborative spirit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of workshops to extract, document, and elaborate detailed user stories, categorized by themes and epics.
- Develop comprehensive documentation including customer/user needs, process/system flows, end-to-end requirements, and detailed user stories encompassing various user scenarios.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to decompose and assign requirements, ensuring each contribution aligns with the project’s overarching goals.
- Ensure meticulous review and sign-off on all BA-related artifacts, upholding the highest documentation standards and project compliance.
- Aid in the formulation of technical design documents, defining acceptance criteria, preparing testing artifacts, and facilitating effort estimation processes.
- Play a crucial role in the quality assurance process, contributing to test strategy, scenario development, and data requirement planning, and supporting user acceptance testing efforts.
- Proactively communicate with project stakeholders to provide updates on requirements changes and project advancements.
Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- At least 9 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within technology projects in the banking or financial services sectors.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with practical experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Specific experience with model risk weight (RW) calculation applications and Basel implementation projects is essential.
- Expert knowledge in Canadian Lending, Term Deposits, and/or Finance and Accounting, along with familiarity with financial compliance and regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in web interface analysis, data mapping, and documentation skills.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office suite and Atlassian tools (JIRA & Confluence).
- A degree in a technology-related field is preferred.
