The Brand Marketing Manager will be committed to ushering Blue Bottle through this pertinent period of growth and beyond, with our brand’s core values leading the way. The Brand Marketing Manager will focus primarily on both channel and product marketing strategy for Japan through the development of compelling and intentional marketing initiatives. The Brand Marketing Manager  will forge lasting relationships with brand partners, external collaborators, guests, and other Blue Bottle team members, through their positive and impactful messaging.

You will:

    • Develop and execute external communications and integrated marketing and implement a plan to ensure consistent branding and messaging using various channels including events, media relations and client marketing
    • Engage with our communities and develop and execute local marketing events (community events, industry events and festivals), campaigns, and programs that drive acquisition, retention, and engagement, with clear ROI and compelling brand stories
    • Identify meaningful community opportunities with local officials, community leaders and local businesses that share Blue Bottle’s values and develop relationships with them
    • Coordinate new cafe opening planning and programming and execute neighborhood outreach plans for the week of opening and month following
    • Assist with content generation, working with internal teams to ensure all written communication (translating into Japanese) and imagery is consistent and in line with key brand message and social brand strategy 
    • Develop and manage seasonal or holiday campaigns, coordinating work across teams, managing timelines, and ensuring work is executed successfully against business objective
    • Manage the concept-to-launch execution of some new product launches and ensure that campaigns are cohesive, on time, and drive intended business results
    • Effectively manage the brand's social media accounts and create local social media contents

You are:

    • Energized by wearing the many hats of marketing management — from data mining to cafe experience to people management — you thrive in the diversity of the work
    • Able to thrive in a collaborative environment, but must be able to work independently and self-start
    • Able to juggle multiple projects at once and appropriately prioritize
    • An excellent written and verbal communicator, able to effectively distill a lot of information and detail. Ability to communicate on all levels and both internally and with external partners
    • Able to be a welcoming brand ambassador to anyone you connect with and passionate about delighting guests and employees

You have:

    • 8+ years of Marketing, PR, Event Planning relevant experience from an in-house and/or agency setting 
    • Experience in brand-led retail businesses or F&B industry is a strong plus 
    • Proven ability to connect strategy and branding within events
    • Knowledge and deep understanding of the Japanese media landscape and ability to develop campaigns specifically targeted to that consumer group
    • Fluency in social media and marketing is important in order to partner effectively on campaigns (must be well versed in social media platforms popular in Japan, including but not exclusive to Instagram, Facebook etc.)
    • Proven ability to be a nimble and creative problem-solver
    • Proficient in written and spoken English and Japanese
