About the Role
Blue Bottle is writing a new chapter to the story and traditions of coffee and hospitality, and the People Relations & Compliance Manager (US), will help us support the company and culture to do it. Under the direction of the Sr. People Relations and Compliance Manager, this is an amazing opportunity to drive a significant portion of the employee relations and HR compliance elements at one of the fastest-growing specialty coffee and consumer brands in the world. You will:

    • Investigate all escalated employee relations complaints across multiple business groups to assist employees and managers in resolving issues and grievances. 
    • Manage the anonymous employee reporting hotline. 
    • Develop, analyze, and monitor metrics to identify key areas of focus for proactive employee relations engagements and reduction in overall employee relations complaints.
    • Proactively and effectively address complex people issues; mitigating risk and managing situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the company, teams, and people.
    • Provide Employee Relations support, thought partnership, and coaching for all team members and levels of management in the organization.
    • Lead projects and programs, including creating communications, training materials, and other change management mechanisms to educate stakeholders on new and revised policies, processes, and programs.
    • Stay up to date on all applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations and industry standards.
    • Provide consultation and guidance on regulatory compliance across People functions including Benefits, Compensation, Learning & Development, Payroll, and People Operations.
    • Develop and maintain HR policies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. 
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Serve as a liaison, and at times, lead certain labor relations efforts throughout the U.S. locations.
    • Additional people relations, labor relations, and compliance functions as needed based on the evolving needs of the business.

    • An expert in written and verbal communication skills.
    • Both detail-oriented and skilled in seeing the bigger picture, including broader impacts of local decisions.
    • Experienced with multi-state programs.
    • An expert in legal interpretation and possess knowledge of US labor and employment law, privacy regulations,  ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.

You have:

    • 5+ years of experience in employee relations and HR compliance, labor relations experience is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of current federal, state, and local employment regulations and compliance areas for HR processes and programs. 
    • Deep knowledge in core HR service functions such as benefits, payroll, compensation, and learning & development.
    • Experience working in a high-growth environment on a team supporting employees distributed across the U.S.
    •  Demonstrated success in developing, drafting, and updating HR policies.
    • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as People Partners, People Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation and Learning & Development.
    • Last but not least, a deep love for great coffee, food, and exceptional customer experience.

    • This position has a salary range of $120k-160k + bonuses. This salary is a good-faith estimate for this position. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, which include a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

$120,000 - $160,000 a year
