We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Department. This role is a key member of the Group Accounting team, responsible for supporting the financial operations across all subsidiaries within the BlueCat group. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence in financial reporting and compliance.
 
Qualifications
• University degree in Accounting
• Minimum 4 years of experience working in an Accounting role
• Preference for CPA or similar designation - 1 year post qualified at minimum, audit background desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ability to manage & prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
• Excellent excel skills and ability to learn new systems (experience with NetSuite and/or systems integration is an asset)
• Willingness to learn and contribute to the team
 
Responsibilities
• Complete journal entries for the monthly close, including but not limited to Intangibles, Leases (ASC842), Inventory, Accruals
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Validate and/or prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure an accurate balance sheet, including but not limited to Intangibles, Leases (ASC842), Inventory, Accruals, Accounts Receivable
• Review financial data for accuracy; identify problems and support day-to-day operations.
• Assist in ad-hoc reporting and projects
• Assists with annual external audits and tax filings
• Assist in identifying areas for process improvements including process automation and participate in the implementation of those improvements (including UAT)
• Gain leadership experience via the co-op program
 
Toronto Candidates: Hybrid work from home policy with one day in the office a week (Tuesday’s) along with occasional in-person All Hands meetings and Social events.
