What are we looking for?

In this opportunity, we are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to work with one of our foreign clients, a corporation that, through its subsidiaries, provides life insurance protection targeted to the middle American market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing web applications leveraging resources hosted on cloud computing platforms. As a Software Engineer III, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software products that meet the needs of internal teams.

Through innovation in product design and distribution that provides access to the middle market, including call center and web-enabled sales and underwriting processes, quick issuance of policies and an emphasis on products not medically underwritten at the time of sale, the company seeks to make life insurance more affordable for the middle market.

Here are some of the exciting day-to-day challenges you will face in this role:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand business requirements
    • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software products using the AWS platform
    • Design, develop, test, and deploy data migration & management internal tools
    • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets coding standards and best practices
    • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality
    • Work with QA engineers to develop and execute test plans, ensuring high software quality
    • Troubleshoot and debug issues in the software and provide timely resolutions
    • Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering and recommend improvements to the software development process

You will shine if you have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
    • Strong proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
    • Strong proficiency in Python with OOP experience.
    • Strong Proficiency with database technologies such as SQL or NoSQL databases
    • Experience with software development tools and processes such as Agile/Scrum, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience building full-stack, enterprise-class applications considering quality and reliability using formal programming languages
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

It doesn’t hurt if you also have:

    • Proficiency in AWS Development
    • Familiar with Enterprise architecture design patterns
    • Familiar with Data Migration & Security
    • Familiar with Okta or other SSO & SAML strategies and technologies
    • Familiar with one or more programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, or JavaScript
    • Experience with Salesforce
