Bluecore is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team with a range of responsibilities to scale our company, keep our customers, vendors and employees happy. The core of this role revolves around accounts receivable and accounts payable, reporting to our Senior Manager of Accounting. You’ll also participate in the monthly closing process, contribute to the annual audit and other ad-hoc exercises. This is a great opportunity to join a well-funded, high growth NYC startup.

Responsibilities

    • Accounts Receivable
    • Help customers understand their bills and terms of subscription
    • Ensure customers pay on time
    • Keep accurate customer database including billing email, Purchase Orders and payment terms
    • Work to minimize DSO with timely collections of outstanding accounts
    • Accounts Payable
    • Manage vendor invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
    • Respond to vendor inquiries as needed
    • Set up new vendor accounts – including W-9 and other billing information
    • General
    • Support month end processes including reconciliation and variance analysis
    • Analyze Operating Expenses and accruals
    • Prepare and track all Balance Sheets reconciliations including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, etc.
    • Prepare Bank Reconciliations, bi-weekly payroll journal entries and assigned monthly standard journal entries
    • Review T&E Reports and reimbursements via Expensify
    • Contribute to process improvement project, including technology implementations, policy creation and assist with audit preparation
    • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests as needed

Requirements

    • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience is required
    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required; CPA is preferred
    • Understanding of US GAAP
    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with an emphasis on being detail oriented
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • People-person - love building relationships in-person, over-the-phone, or via email
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsHands-on, love new challenges, and love to improve existing processes
    • Pay attention to detail, multi-task, and prioritize well
    • Ability to adapt efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Excel
    • Knowledge of Quickbooks, Salesforce.com and SaaS billing systems preferred
    • Public accounting experience is preferred
