The Role
Blueland is looking for a National Sales Manager to join our team and take on a meaningful role in helping to successfully grow our rapidly scaling brick & mortar retail presence. In this role, you’ll manage HQ level relationships and the day-to-day account management of Blueland’s conventional grocery accounts. You’ll work collaboratively with internal sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to drive successful sales planning and execution, meeting and exceeding overall revenue objectives.

We’re looking for a highly motivated conventional grocery expert with a proven track record of building high-growth brands within the Total US Food channel. The ability to roll up your sleeves and move quickly while still thinking big picture is a must. This is an extraordinary opportunity to join Blueland and further develop our expansion into retail, while working in a fast-paced, start-up environment. This role reports into the Sr. Director of Sales. 

Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and execute strategic sales plans for assigned conventional grocery accounts to achieve revenue and profitability goals
    • Build strong relationships with key decision makers at assigned accounts and provide exceptional customer service
    • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify opportunities for assortment growth and improvement
    • Prepare and pitch brand and product presentations during monthly, quarterly, and annual buyer review meetings
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure successful execution of plans and programs
    • Negotiate and manage promotions, pricing, and new product launches for assigned accounts
    • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to maintain knowledge of the latest trends and developments in the conventional grocery space
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on sales performance, account developments, and market trends

Qualifications:

    • A passion for Blueland’s mission
    • 5+ years of experience in sales or account management within the consumer packaged goods industry with a focus on the conventional grocery space
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field
    • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing brands across TTL US Food channel with previous account management of Kroger, Meijer, Wegmans, HEB
    • Proven track record of managing and executing promotional trade programs
    • Additional experience across Mass, Club, Natural, and Drug Channels is a plus
    • High attention to detail, with an ability to effectively organize and prioritize
    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
    • Ability to travel depending on business needs. To be planned in advance quarterly
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, NetSuite, and SPINS/IRI/Neilsen
* While many of our employees reside in New York City, we are open to remote team members for this role, however the working hours for this role would be East Time Zone hours (with flexibility to work Pacific on occasion as needed).

The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 per year with an additional bonus incentive plan available.
