The Drug Diversion Analyst role at Bluesight is a trusted, experienced, subject matter expert to help guide our customers with their proactive drug diversion monitoring program with the adoption of the Bluesight platform.
The Analyst is responsible to guide a customer through complex workflows necessary to handle cases generated by the Bluesight diversion platform, and to assist customers with developing policies, procedures, templates, and communication plans that enable customers to extract maximum value from the platform. The Drug Diversion Analyst may also serve as an extension of the customer’s team at Bluesight, and assist the customer with the investigation of cases
This is a collaborative role that requires partnership with teams across Bluesight as well as strong customer communication skills. Demonstrated experience with diversion prevention and/or monitoring in a healthcare delivery setting and detailed and working knowledge of DEA regulations is required.
The position is a compliance-related role focusing on assisting healthcare customers with developing and monitoring drug diversion programs.
Representative Duties:
- Collaborating with other Bluesight teams on the ongoing development of the Drug Diversion Platform
- Communicating with customers related to pharmacy and other related hospital operational issues
- Establishing foundational guidelines and best practices for customers using the Drug Diversion Platform, including development of medication use policies & diversion investigation procedures, and direct assistance with implementation and activation steps
- Assisting customers with understanding the value of the Bluesight tool and with optimizing its use in clinical and compliance settings
- Establishing educational guidelines and policies related to medication handling and ensuring those guidelines are aligned with customer policies & procedures
- Providing internal education and guidance to Bluesight staff related to medication/drug diversion processing
- Assisting Bluesight staff in remaining focused on customer needs related to diversion monitoring, and identifying those customer needs by direct customer communication and/or clinical and research experience
- Creation and maintenance of professional services documentation necessary to provide direct assistance to customers and Bluesight staff
- Data analysis necessary to add value to customers’ use of the Bluesight Drug Diversion platform, including assisting customers with compliance and industry-required reporting
- Preparation of reports, both internally for Bluesight and externally for customers, relative to trends identified in the Bluesight Drug Diversion platform
- Identifying and keeping up-to-date on federal regulations required of hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers related to medication processing and usage and drug diversion
- Review, analyze, process and resolve medication/drug diversion cases, which includes investigation, monitoring, surveillance on behalf of customers, working closely with customer compliance and clinical teams
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years in pharmacy, nursing, and/or compliance operations in a hospital setting, specific to the flow of medications through the patient experience.
- Intimate and working knowledge of DEA, FDA, and other healthcare regulations and guidelines
- Experience administering and/or managing a hospital medication/drug diversion program
- Ability to identify and use industry best practices to guide customers through the steps necessary to build and/or hone a medication diversion compliance program
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospital medication workflows
- Experience identifying, analyzing, investigating and resolving medication/drug diversion-related anomalies and cases in a hospital setting, to include monitoring, surveillance, and security of drugs
- Demonstrated ability to provide concrete guidance and direction related to the evaluation of facts and data
- Experience giving presentations and leading training sessions, including the confidence and ability to independently guide others in learning new tasks and concepts
- At a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized educational institution in a related healthcare or compliance field of study, along with an advanced degree or certification in a clinical, research and/or scientific field of study
- Additional pharmacy certifications or Nursing licenses a plus
$75,000 - $85,000 a year
Bluesight offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 and includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
This position is a remote position and open to applicants in the continental United States.
