Bluesight is looking for an Engineering Manager to help us redefine and grow our suite of healthcare data products to further the company's mission of "Medication Intelligence". Our hospital and pharmacy customers rely on us to keep their patients safe and their pharmacies running smoothly while delighting them with every release. By streamlining their pharmacy's daily routines with our RFID inventory management solution and reducing risk and enhancing their compliance with our controlled substance tracking and privacy compliance platforms, we're committed to improving medication management for our nation's healthcare providers, and our data operations and products are the backbone of our offerings.
The Engineering Manager will lead a team building and managing cloud infrastructure and tooling which is robust, extensible, and secure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at scale, build and deployment pipelines, and managing observability tools. Additionally, they should have a deep understanding of cloud cost management, governance, and security.
This role will be responsible for leading a group of engineers working to enable DevOps practices across the Engineering organization. You’ll work closely with other Engineering leadership to enable product roadmap delivery, while modernizing our cloud infrastructure, optimizing cloud spend, and improving security.
Representative Duties:
- Leverage your engineering skills in helping the teams architect and build cloud infrastructure and solutions approximately 30-50% of the time.
- Oversee daily operations across DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure functional domains, working to unblock the team.
- Participate in design and code reviews across the team’s projects.
- Manage and develop your team through hiring, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Champion best practices in reliability, automation, and security engineering.
- Partner with other teams to deliver cross-functional projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven track record of leading a team to deliver results
- 8+ years of experience working in AWS cloud environments
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling including Terraform/OpenTofu and CloudFormation
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, including managing IAM roles and policies
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application builds
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts clearly
- Familiarity with observability tools like DataDog to monitor applications, set up alerts, triage incidents, and resolve issues
- Strong bias for action, documentation and education
- Ability to work through ambiguity with open communication and autonomy

- Strong written and analytical skills
- History of architecting, designing, and developing scalable production applications
- Experience leading remote teams (we are a fully remote team that meets in person as needed a few times a year)
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries, with a focus on building compliant and secure solutions
- Security and compliance control experience, especially within SOC2, HIPAA, or HITRUST
- AWS, Hashicorp, or other industry certifications
$160,000 - $180,000 a year
Bluesight offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The pay range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000 and includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
This position is a remote position and open to applicants in the continental United States.
