The SOC Specialist serves as a bridge between the NF RSOC and GSOC and is responsible for triaging information and making assessments to determine next steps for primary and secondary security service support. The SOC Specialist will proactively monitor systems and take action in accordance with established processes to handle both normal course of business activities and critical events, including escalation to key parties and other support functions within the organization.
The SOC Specialist uses a variety of tools that can range from enterprise access control and alarm monitoring systems to various business intelligence sources, open source media, internet, and in-house tools to respond and alert personnel regarding any adverse conditions that may affect the client, its employees, facilities, and/or properties.
Duties & Responsibilities
Fortify and streamline on-site response and communication to GSOC (via RSOC)
Triage and management of inbound requests to the RSOC/GSOC
Triage and troubleshoot “Tier 1” service requests.
Fulfill the “global” GSOC tasks for London to relieve extra workload on the guards.
Develop and distribute runbooks.
Risk Event monitoring of London NF properties.
Gathering/reporting guard/RSOC output metrics.
Conducting general monitoring of systems to be aware of adverse and irregular events (i.e. alarms, access control systems, intrusion detection systems)
Work collaboratively with the RSOC/GSOC teams to ensure effective communication of events that occurred during shift and any on-going events (i.e. facilities emergencies, etc.)
3-5 years of experience working in one or more of the following environments:
Commercial or Corporate security environments involving 24/7 monitoring and escalation processes.
Security/Emergency/Response based dispatch/operations centre services involving direct interaction with callers and dispatched personnel.
Ability to effectively use or learn computer systems in the following areas: General Office Systems, CCTV and Networked Video Systems, Alarm monitoring systems, Telephone and Instant Messaging systems.
Advanced communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate situations to resolve emergencies.
Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and development.
Must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
