The Position
Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the VP will provide leadership, clinical development, and oversight of the clinical deliverables for Bolt’s clinical programs. They will be responsible for developing an integrated clinical trial program including protocol design and medical oversight of ongoing studies. The VP will build strong partnerships with external clinical collaborators and internal stakeholders to advance Bolt’s growing portfolio. They will obtain scientific advisory input, work with biostatisticians for phase I-III design and analyses, support regulatory interactions for product advancement, and work closely with operations to provide advice and decision making regarding medical input.
Key Responsibilities
• Overseeing physicians advancing clinical trials for lead oncology candidates in development, ensuring all clinical development milestones are well-executed
• Leading the clinical development strategy for Bolt’s portfolio of clinical assets with external collaborators
• Supporting the establishment of collaboration agreements with internal cross-functional teams
• Participating in medical review and selection of new oncology business opportunities
• Supporting clinical needs for planning and executing clinical trials including adherence to protocols, safety reviews, assay development, training, and clinical document review
• Supporting physician interactions with Investigators, preparation for Investigator meetings, and development of abstracts and presentations
• Understanding the regulatory landscape
• Providing input on the design of preclinical studies supporting clinical strategy
• Managing key external technology partnerships
Job Requirements
• MD with board certification or equivalent degree experience across stages of clinical development
• Broad knowledge of Oncology and excellent scientific knowledge in Pharmacogenetics, and Clinical Pharmacology within the oncology field is highly desirable
• Highly developed mastery of the planning, control and monitoring of complex and highly visible drug development projects and activities with 10+ years’ experience in pharmacology within the pharmaceutical industry
• Demonstrated scientific and business acumen and the ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders and lead complex partnership and alliance activities
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Willingness and Ability to travel globally (<25%)
