Solar Internship
We are seeking highly motivated, self-driven interns for Summer 2024, who are interested in working in the solar industry after graduation. You will participate in a fun and rewarding 10 to 12 week summer internship, providing exposure to impactful projects in various departments that will influence the business. In doing so, you develop skills related to solar energy, interpersonal skills and career development. You will work on specifically defined projects focused on solar energy and systems. This position will report directly to the Solar Manager in Indianapolis.

You will be introduced to the following to learn and assist as needed:

    • Plan PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions
    • Measure, cut, and assemble the support structure for solar PV panels
    • Install solar modules, panels, and support structures according to building codes and standards
    • Connect PV panels to the electrical systems
    • Commission and test PV systems
    • Perform routine PV system maintenance
    • Tie in Electrical - Innerconnection
    • Install Solar Battery systems 

Qualifications

    • Education – Pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
    • Certifications – No specific certifications required; however, any related certifications or coursework in renewable energy would be advantageous. 
    • Professional Experience – While no prior professional experience is required, any exposure to the solar program or electrician industry or relevant internships would be a plus. 
    • Ability to meet the physical demands of an outdoor job and .
    • Valid driver's license
    • Electrical licensing a plus
    • Military service a plus
    • Bilingual a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

    • Compensation: $15/hour during the 10-12 week long Internship Program
    • Working at the Bone Dry Headquarters in Indianapolis with free onsite gym and showers available
