The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records
and reports. This role supports the organization's financial operations by assisting with accounting
activities, month-end and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and
providing insights through financial analysis. The Senior Accountant also plays a key role in maintaining
internal controls, improving financial processes, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Onsite Work Location: This is an onsite full-time position located in Indianapolis, Indiana
(This is not a remote opportunity)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reconciling general ledger account balances.
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures.
- Assisting with year-end external audits.
- Preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close.
- Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
- Collaborating with operational management on financial metrics.
- Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Flexibility to meet changes in duties, responsibilities, and activities assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 3-5 years’ accounting experience (Construction industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (Acumatica, i360, Traild)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Must pass a criminal background check
Bonus Skills & Competencies
- CPA Certification
- Experience in public accounting and audit
- Experience working with Acumatica, Traild and i360 (Salesforce)
