Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Clerk to manage application of cash, ACH, and credit card payments as well as assist with customer calls as needed. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payments from residential, commercial, and insurance-based clients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and have strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Onsite Work Location: This is an onsite full-time position located in Indianapolis, Indiana
(This is not a remote opportunity.)

Key Responsibilities:

    • Post daily payments (check, ACH, credit card) accurately and promptly
    • Reconcile payment discrepancies, short pays, and credits
    • Respond to customer inquiries related to billing or payments via phone
    • Support month-end closing by reporting A/R totals and complete open deposit reconciliation and clean-up
    • Maintain accurate and up to date customer account information
    • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, production, and managers) to ensure payment application accuracy
    • Daily ACH and Credit Card transaction reporting
    • Support collections and customer financing roles as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
    • Valid driver's license
    • Pass a background check
    • 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or similar financial role
    • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
    • Good interpersonal skills with customers and internal teams
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
    • Experience in the construction, roofing, or service industry preferred
    • Familiarity with data entry, Acumatica, Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Excel preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

    • $22 - $23 an hour commensurate based on experience
