Job Description 
As the new Lead of our Data Science & Engineering Team, you will help planning and implementing new features and capabilities within our data lake architecture for the benefit of competitiveness, marketability, and quality assurance. Therefore, in addition to a high degree of people management, we also expect you to have a technical background to create a vision for the next iteration of our data tech stack. 

Your future tasks include:

    • Lead a team of 4 Data Engineers and 4 Data Scientists with a focus on our Data Architecture and Machine Learning Platform. 
    • Proactively identify opportunities where data can influence our product & marketing strategy. 
    • Improve data tools, processes, and best practices at Bonial and within the Data Team. 
    • Work closely with Product & Development teams on company initiatives by building real-time data capabilities, integrating new data sources in our data stack and continuously improving our data governance processes. 
    • Ensure scalability and reliability of data processing processes. 

    • Note: Based on our experience, approximately 80% of your time in this role will be allocated to leading the team, as well as project management and stakeholder management.


    • At least 4+ years of experience in data field. 
    • You gathered first experience in people management or leading teams and bring soft skills associated with this, such as empathy, coordination, and helpfulness. 
    • A project manager who can manage the workload of the team, align projects with business priorities and value and communicate results & align expectations with stakeholders. 
    • A data visionary with a hands-on mentality. 
    • You got experience with Python, experience with an object-oriented language such as Java or Scala is a plus. 
    • Experience working with Big Data technologies as Airflow, Apache Spark and Hadoop, experience in the field of DevOps especially in AWS, Terraform or Kubernetes would be a plus. 
    • Knowledgeable of latest developments in data science and engineering to incorporate new techniques and technologies into our data environment and assess opportunities. 
    • You hold a degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics or equivalent (technical) field and you have a ‘can-do’ attitude with a passion for people, analytics & data.
