Boosted is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented compliance engineer knowledgeable in the areas of international and national regulatory standards for electronic and battery devices including FCC, CE, UL2771 and UL2772, CEC, and UN38.3.  This person will be skilled in understanding regulatory language, applying regulations to real engineering designs, planning and managing regulatory testing, debugging issues as they arise, and maintaining regulatory documentation.

What you'll be doing

    • You’ll be responsible for defining and driving Boosted’s products’ compliance strategies
    • You’ll use your knowledge of regulatory standards to guide product design from an early stage for ultimate success in compliance testing
    • You’ll share your knowledge with the team and establish processes and best-practices to provide a solid foundation for compliant product designs
    • You’ll work with the engineering team to prevent compliance issues by researching applicable regulatory standards and codes, reviewing design data, and identifying and resolving potential design issues
    • You’ll manage formal compliance testing performed at external agencies and third party test facilities, coordinating testing schedules to align with project timelines
    • You’ll work with the engineering team to track down, identify, and fix test failure points
    • You’ll work with the manufacturing team to ensure all compliance requirements are met through production
    • You’ll organize and attend factory inspections performed by certifying agencies
    • You’ll prepare standards applications and coordinate regulatory certifications for all new products
    • You’ll organize and maintain compliance documentation including certifications, test reports, RoHS information, etc.
    • You’ll manage standards compliance throughout the product lifecycle to ensure products remain compliant as standards change
    • You’ll stay up to date on the latest standards and codes by tracking changes in standards, participating in education opportunities and professional organizations, and reading professional publications

Requirements

    • You have at least 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing or hardware engineering setting
    • You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar
    • You are knowledgeable of common electrical and battery regulations (both national and international in scope), including FCC, CE, UL2771 and UL2772, CEC, and UN38.3
    • You have hands-on experience debugging electrical issues including RF
    • You can effectively and efficiently work on multiple tasks at one time
    • You are extremely organized and have proven your ability to work to a high level of accuracy and detail
    • You have excellent problem solving skills
    • You have great interpersonal skills and are able to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
    • You have demonstrated your ability to manage and maintain positive external business relationships
    • You are self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working independently to meet personal and team goals
    • You have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • You are comfortable with occasional international travel
