With six models to fit the most extreme action sports enthusiast to the casual commuter, the Boosted board is a powerful and reliable paradigm shift in transportation and recreation. Boosted is expanding and we are seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to join our engineering team. You are a committed, hands-on individual that has the breadth and understanding of transportation space and consumer goods industry.

The Role

    • Work closely with our industrial design team to design plastic, metal, and composite parts for use on upcoming products
    • Create technical documentation such as part drawings or assembly manuals
    • Create quality test documentation and design test fixtures to ensure a successful ongoing production process
    • Support our suppliers and CM’s through the entire manufacturing process
    • Help choose and implement CAD file management solutions as the engineering team grows
    • Make on site visits to CM’s as well as regularly communicate via email and phone

The Requirements

    • Strong experience with Plastic Injection Molding
    • Deep understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
    • Highly proficient in mechanical CAD including FEA (SolidWorks preferred)
    • Have designed multiple plastic injection molded parts that have seen production
    • Have worked closely with industrial designers
    • Have worked with multiple suppliers and managed vendor relationships (not afraid to pick up the phone)
    • Have worked with overseas CM's
    • In depth understanding of a wide variety of manufacturing processes including injection molding, die casting, forging, machining, ultra-sonic welding, and finishing processes
    • Thermal modeling and heat transfer
    • Have at least 5 years of real work experience beyond your degree program
    • Familiar with PDM or vault systems for mechanical CAD
    • Proficient in BOM management (Arena BOM a plus)
    • Skilled at creating engineering documentation ranging from mechanical part drawings to technical documents
    • Skilled in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
    • Great at execution and used to working under schedule constraints
    • Self-motivated, take ownership of projects
