Welding Inspector (Certified Welding Inspector - CWI)

Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure they meet specified quality standards and codes.
Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing.
Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and specifications to verify conformance to requirements.
Monitor welding procedures and parameters to ensure compliance with welding procedures specifications (WPS).
Document inspection results, maintain detailed records, and prepare inspection reports.
Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other team members to address welding issues and implement corrective actions.
Participate in welder qualification testing and welding procedure qualification testing as required.
Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections to identify and rectify defects.
Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to welding and inspection practices.
Promote a culture of safety and quality within the organization.

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding inspection in a similar industry, preferably in mining or tunneling.
Thorough understanding of welding processes, procedures, and metallurgy.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing.
Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.

Willing to travel to job sites as required to commission & develop new designs, as well as troubleshoot and problem-solve existing designs.
Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted
Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
