Position Summary

The Senior Director of Western New York Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of BRICK’s school and regional office functions in the Western New York region. This individual will serve as the backbone of day-to-day logistics, compliance, and administrative systems, enabling school and program staff to focus on instruction and student success. Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, the Senior Director of Western New York Operations will partner closely with school leadership and central BRICK teams to build and maintain efficient, mission-aligned systems that support sustainable growth.

Regional Facility Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional facilities issues, liaising with property managers, contractors, and IT support personnel
    • Design and implement a long-term facility plan for Western New York
    • Plan for long-term capital improvements and life-cycle management of assets
    • Oversee expansion, renovation, and relocation projects in the region
    • Oversee compliance and reporting related to state and local regulations, health and safety, and school governanceCoordinate with school leadership and gather their input to inform facility management decisions

Regional Board Leadership

    • Recruit, onboard, and cultivate a diverse, mission-aligned regional board; foster meaningful board engagement and stewardship
    • Support effective board operations and ensure alignment between regional board activities and organizational strategy and priorities
    • Mobilize board members as ambassadors to advance organizational visibility, partnerships, and recruitment goals
    • Maintain records and serve as the Board Secretary

Authorizer Relationships

    • Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with charter authorizers, serving as the primary point of contact to foster trust and collaboration
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all authorizer-required reports, data, and compliance documentation; proactively communicate progress and address concerns
    • Lead preparations for charter renewals, site visits, and performance reviews; align internal stakeholders to meet or exceed authorizer standards and expectations

District Relationships

    • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with district leaders and key stakeholders to advance shared goals
    • Facilitate effective communication and coordination on operational matters (enrollment, facilities, health, transportation, special education, accountability), ensuring compliance with all relevant district and state policies
    • Submission similar to the NY state request

Other duties

    • Travel between sites in Buffalo and Rochester as needed to fulfill the above responsibilities
    • Attend any network-wide meetings, events, or other relevant engagements in New Jersey as requested
    • Support with regional student recruitment

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of operations, administration, or project management experience, ideally in a school, nonprofit, or mission-driven setting
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a track record of managing multiple prioritiesProactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
    • Comfort with data systems, spreadsheets, and operational tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Excel, Trello, etc.)
    • Commitment to BRICK’s mission and core values

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in or with schools, particularly in charter or public education
    • Familiarity with New York State education regulations and compliance requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
$80,750 - $123,250 a year
