Job Summary 

The Group Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance within the property development and management sector. This role requires strategic financial  planning to support the company's growth objectives and effective financial management of property assets and  investments.

Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs and cash flow projections.
    • Manage general ledger and month-end processes.
    • Assist in consolidating and collecting data for group month-end reporting.
    • Post journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany adjustments.
    • Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts, and balance sheet items monthly.
    • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
    • Support year-end closing processes and liaise with external auditors as required.
    • Assist in managing group and subsidiary taxation and compliance.
    • Maintain tax schedules and support annual income tax computations.
    • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (IFRS for SMEs or full IFRS) and internal controls.
    • Report and analyze group financial data with relevant metrics.
    • Provide timely financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making at group level.
    • Monitor and report on key financial metrics including collections, cash flow, and cost variances.
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation and filing of financial records.
    • Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements within the finance function.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, operations) to resolve financial issues.
    • Manage expense tracking and employee reimbursements.
    • Provide financial expertise and support on ad hoc projects.

Qualifications & Experience

    • A completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting (minimum requirement)
    • Completed articles at an accounting or audit firm (beneficial)
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real estate or hospitality
    • Experience handling multi-currency transactions and working across multiple jurisdictions
    • Familiarity with credit control, stock control, and supplier management is preferred
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)
    • Strong knowledge of taxation and financial regulations
    • Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
