Position Summary:

The Greenhouse Manager leads Oath's greenhouse facility operations in Kigali, ensuring
optimal conditions for our microbial science research and development. This role combines technical greenhouse management with scientific research support, overseeing
plant-microbe experiments and maintaining precise growing conditions for Oath's
innovative soil solutions.

Responsibilities:

    • Facility Management and Operations
    • Maintain and optimize environmental control systems including temperature, humidity, and irrigation
    • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and manage equipment repairs
    • Oversee inventory management and supply chain for greenhouse materials
    • Implement biosafety protocols and quality control measures

    • Research Support and Documentation
    • Execute research protocols in collaboration with scientific team
    • Monitor and document environmental parameters for experiments
    • Maintain detailed records of growth conditions and trial progress
    • Support sample collection and processing procedures

    • Team Leadership and Coordination
    • Train and supervise greenhouse support staff
    • Coordinate space and resource allocation with research teams
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures
    • Manage work schedules and task delegation

    • Quality Control and Compliance
    • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures
    • Ensure adherence to experimental protocols
    • Document deviations and corrective actions
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility

    • Data Management and Reporting
    • Track and analyze environmental data
    • Prepare regular status reports on facility operations
    • Document maintenance activities and equipment status
    • Generate reports on experimental conditions

Competencies:

    • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of greenhouse systems, environmental controls, and plant science principles, with demonstrated ability to optimize growing conditions and troubleshoot complex issues
    • Scientific Mindset: Ability to follow precise protocols, maintain research-grade documentation standards, and support controlled experiments with careful attention to detail

Qualifications:

    • 3+ years greenhouse management experience
    • Experience supporting research projects preferred
    • Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities
