We're seeking our next OpenPlan Advisor, a key role in our emerging business line at Brighton Jones dedicated to providing personalized financial empowerment. We focus on supporting clients early in their wealth journey, partnering with leading companies and individuals to offer holistic wealth management services. OpenPlan Advisors work closely with clients to understand their unique goals and challenges, creating and updating their Foundational Plan. They also collaborate with key decision makers in organizations to deliver a comprehensive retirement plan offering, including personalized financial advisory for employees. Your Role:

    • Work directly with clients to help them design, implement and manage the financial plan that supports their “Foundational Plan”.
    • Oversee assigned clients and conduct regular dialogue via email and video conference to discuss the client’s investment objectives, goals, needs, and expectations.
    • Educate and consult with clients on creating an investment philosophy, understanding market/portfolio performance, and other financial matters.
    • Own full cycle relationships with our retirement plan corporate clients as the primary point of contact with firms’ finance and human resource leaders; conduct and facilitate annual client meetings & calendar and drive strategic direction using consultative expertise.
    • Serve as subject matter expert on employee education and financial wellbeing.
    • Collaborate with business development team to support the BD process. This will include generating client referrals, identifying target prospects (using internal tools), helping close new business through delivery of creative plan solutions.
    • Be able to communicate your understanding of global financial markets as well as current events and other topical issues and how they relate to the client’s investment strategy relative to Brighton Jones’ investment philosophy and approach.
    • Organize and input client data into the CRM (Salesforce) and financial planning software (eMoney); manage data accuracy and integrity and keep records current.
    • Proactively make referrals to the Personal CFO team for clients with increased wealth complexity.
    • Support the Brighton Jones mission by using objectivity, creativity, and passion to help our clients, colleagues, and community members “live richer lives”.
    • Provide teammates with timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback.
    • Assist with ad-hoc projects around client or team support.
    • Periodic domestic travel may be required.

Your Experience:

    • 4+ years of direct client advising experience.
    • Undergraduate degree and CFP® credential required.
    • High level of technical expertise in estate planning, tax, retirement, insurance, investment, and cash flow/capital needs planning analysis.
    • Familiarity and experience with executive compensation packages (including RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, ESOPs, ESPP plans, etc) and experience assisting clients with identifying planning strategies and execution methods.
    • Familiarity with eMoney and Salesforce CRM (or similar software programs)
    • Experience in customer success, relationship management, and retirement plan consulting in a B2B environment is preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage heavy workloads and projects, many on a time-sensitive basis, efficiently and effectively.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Windows) required; expected to learn other position-related systems on the job.
    • Unquestioned commitment to integrity in personal and professional activities
    • Highly motivated to learn and grow and with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment independently.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to interact with clients and project a professional, capable image in action and appearance.
    • This is a full-time/exempt status position.
    • This position can work remotely but will report to teams based in Seattle. Applicants must be available to work PST hours.

Compensation:

    • For this position, the targeted base salary range is $100,000 to $120,00 + variable compensation based on a percentage of revenue. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.

What to expect in the hiring process
 1. Values in Action Self-Assessment - at Brighton Jones we don’t just talk about our values, we live by them! We’ve operationalized our values into behaviors and part of the application process includes completing a brief self-assessment on our Values in Action.
2. Initial Interview - this 30-min chat with a recruiter or hiring manager gives us a chance to learn about your background and goals and share more about the role and company.
 3. Role Alignment - next you’ll meet with the hiring manager and a peer (virtual or in-person) to dive deeper into the role, responsibilities, and your transferrable experiences.
 4. Full Loop - you’ll meet the team in two, back-to-back interviews with team members you’re likely to work with. During these conversations, we’ll be listening for examples of your technical skills as well as how core values show up in your experience. There may also be a writing sample, role play, hiring, or technical assessment depending on the position.
 5. Personal Reference Calls - in this final step in the hiring process, you will be asked to arrange 1-2 personal reference calls with past managers of our choosing.
