At Brighton Jones, our Managing Directors (MDs) play a pivotal role in growing strong markets, developing great people, and ensuring our clients receive a remarkable experience. You’ll oversee a local team of advisors, help drive intentional growth, and bring clarity, care, and accountability to the way we scale.

This is a leadership role that blends team mentorship, business strategy, and client excellence.
You’ll partner closely with the General Manager and firmwide leaders to ensure your office is delivering on our mission to help people live richer lives—while staying aligned to the systems and structures that support sustainable growth.

What You'll Do - Own Local Business Performance

    • Lead the local Brighton Jones business, including oversight of 25+ teammates.
    • Manage the office’s financial performance, including shared ownership of the P&L.
    • Drive growth by optimizing team structure and using data-driven forecasting to inform people planning and business strategy.
    • Monitor key performance metrics across growth, service, and team health—and take action to improve delivery and efficiency.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between your market and firmwide leadership. 

What You'll Do - Drive Growth and Market Strategy

    • Collaborate with market growth leaders to drive growth and brand recognition
    • Represent Brighton Jones in the local market—deepening relationships and visibility in the community

What You'll Do - Lead the Team

    • Inspire and coach a high-performing growth and advisory teams
    • Model Brighton Jones’ values and #OneTeam approach, ensuring teammates feel engaged, aligned, and supported
    • Serve as the local culture carrier and first-line leader for your market

What You'll Do - People Management & Client Assignment

    • Oversee client service assignments and role clarity to ensure balance, sustainability, and optimized client experience
    • Use capacity data and advisor insights to make strategic client service assignments and adjustments
    • Ensure teammates are working in their highest and best use and that service loads are aligned with business goals
    • Partner with the General Manager and centralized teams on workforce planning and resource decisions

What You'll Do - Operational Excellence

    • Ensure consistent execution of firmwide best practices while tailoring where appropriate for local needs
    • Identify bottlenecks, collaborate on, and implement solutions that improve both teammate experience and service delivery
    • Lead local efforts to align with our scalable growth frameworks, including growth modeling

What You Bring

    • 10+ years of experience in wealth management, professional services, or team-based advisory roles
    • Strong leadership skills and successful history of managing, coaching, and developing others
    • Demonstrated success in making strategic decisions around team structure and client alignment
    • Financial acumen and experience managing or contributing to a P&L
    • Clear and confident communicator who builds trust and drives alignment
    • Deep commitment to our mission: helping people—clients and teammates—live richer lives

Compensation:

    • Pay: $225,000 - $275,000 per year

What to Expect in the Hiring Process

1. Values in Action Self-Assessment - At Brighton Jones we don’t just talk about our values, we live by them! We’ve operationalized our values into observable behaviors and part of the application process includes completing a brief self-assessment on our Values in Action. 

2. Initial Interview - This 30-min chat with a recruiter or hiring manager gives us a chance to learn about your background and goals and share more about the role and company. 

3. Role Alignment - Next you’ll meet with the hiring manager and a peer (virtual or in-person) to dive deeper into the role, responsibilities, and your transferrable experiences. 

4. Full Loop - You’ll meet the team in two, back-to-back interviews with team members you’re likely to work with. During these conversations, we’ll be listening to examples of your technical skills as well as how core values show up in your experience. There may also be a writing sample, role play, hiring, or technical assessment depending on the position. 

5. Personal Reference Calls - In this final step in the hiring process, you will be asked to arrange 1-2 personal reference calls with past managers of our choosing.
