Mainframe Developer

Primary Skills

    • Mainframe Developer to contribute to the development, maintenance, and modernization of their critical mainframe systems. This role involves collaborating with various teams, including business users and technology partners, to analyze requirements, develop and implement solutions, and ensure the stability and efficiency of core applications that form the backbone of the company's operations.

Job requirements

    • Responsibilities often include developing and supporting batch and online processes, analyzing business requirements, participating in the full SDLC, troubleshooting, optimizing performance, and maintaining documentation. 
    • Proficiency in mainframe languages (COBOL, JCL), database concepts (preferably DB2 & IMS DB/DC), and related technologies like CICS, VSAM, and IBM MQ are crucial with other mainframe specific tools and utilities
    • Experience with performance tuning, DevOps practices, and additional languages like CICS or Assembler can also be beneficial. 
    • Strong business analysis experience, developing technical specs and experience in designing efficient and scalable solutions
    • Performance Optimization experience
    • Experience creating, documenting and maintaining technical documentation for system processes and modifications
    • Provide expertise in troubleshooting and debugging complex mainframe system issues, potentially across various applications.
    • Experience working with teams to integrate new solutions and enhance existing applications, potentially including data migration support.
$45 - $60 an hour
