In 2021, Brinc announced a series of venture funds to invest in high-potential early-stage companies through accelerators and provide LPs with a dedicated innovation platform and access to Series A+ co-investment opportunities.

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Partner for our Counter Culture Fund which will invest in early-stage alternative protein companies across Asia. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing capital formation and investments in Alternative Protein companies, and will play a key role in helping us identify and support the next generation of high-growth startups in this rapidly-evolving sector.

The candidate will work closely with Brinc and Artesian leadership to develop and implement fundraising strategies and lead efforts to scale our ability to serve stakeholders, including our Limited Partners. The partner will also be responsible for leading our investment efforts which includes sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and negotiating and structuring deals. Following investment, they will have the opportunity to work closely with our portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance and support to help them achieve their growth ambitions.

In addition to their fundraising and investment responsibilities, the candidate will be a key member of our leadership team and will play a critical role in helping to shape the direction and strategy of the firm. They will be expected to contribute to our overall business development efforts, including building relationships with key stakeholders in the alternative protein industry and representing the firm at relevant conferences and events.

Every year, hundreds of companies enter Brinc’s alternative protein accelerator programs. What You Will Do:

    • Establish and cultivate relationships with strategic and financial LPs (including sovereign funds, asset managers, pensions, endowments, family offices, corporates, HNWIs and more) considering investment into Brinc’s Counter Culture Fund.
    • Actively manage fundraising networks globally to explore capital raising opportunities.
    • Prepare investor presentations, case studies and other marketing materials to support fundraising efforts for the Counter Culture Fund.
    • Develop and execute strategies to identify potential LPs, convey the Funds proposition and increase our overall assets under management.
    • Source and evaluate alternative protein companies, prepare investment committee memorandums, facilitate negotiations, structure transactions and advise on investment decisions as a member of the Fund’s investment committee
    • Act as a strategic advisor to our portfolio companies and provide them with guidance and support to help them achieve their growth objectives. In certain circumstances, represent the Fund’s interest by taking a board seat .
    • Contribute to and drive investor relations by keeping LPs well-informed of Brinc’s track record, fundraising progress and notable portfolio company updates.
    • Proactively create value for our strategic LPs by curating relevant co-investment opportunities and sharing relevant industry insights, innovations and trends.
    • Prepare and disseminate high-quality quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports to keep our investor base informed and engaged.
    • Represent Brinc at relevant industry events and conferences.

Requirements

    • The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success as an investor, with at least 10 years of experience in the alternative protein space or the broader agrifood sector. They should have a deep understanding of the agrifood industry and its key trends, as well as a network of relationships with limited partners, entrepreneurs, co-investors, ecosystem partners and other key players in the sector. We are looking for candidates that have a demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate high-potential investment opportunities, and a track record of success in helping to grow early-stage companies.

    • 10+ years of experience in alternative investments with experience in Alternative Protein or the broader Food and Agriculture sector.
    • A deep understanding of the Food and Agriculture sector including major challenges, novel technologies, emerging trends and opportunities for innovation, disruption, and investment.
    • Familiarity with investment management, financial markets and venture capital along with insights into the LP investment process.
    • A genuine passion for partnering with entrepreneurs and a belief the world needs more game changers and innovators to solve fundamental problems.
    • High energy level, independence, entrepreneurial mindset, individual motivation, and a collaborative team-oriented approach to business.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, and storytelling.
    • Ability to forge genuine win-win relationships, and to establish a high level of credibility externally and internally (personable, mature, influential).
