We are looking for a professional with a strong piping design background which has experience modeling and designing piping systems as well as a strong desire to be a multi-faceted team member to support a growing and dynamic company in other areas such as field walk-downs, system condition assessments, and other various mechanical, piping, and structural design requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
- Associates degree in drafting and design required; Bachelors degree a plus
- Must have 4~8 years’ experience in 3D & 2D pipe system modeling and isometric generation in industrial environments; as well as proficiency with AutoCAD; 3D modeling; or equivalent required
- Develop 3D piping models from laser scan data and turning those models into 2D isometric Drawings
- Develop hand-sketch and 2D AutoCAD generated piping plan, elevation, and isometric drawings
- Lead field walk-downs of piping systems to ascertain flaws in the systems and develop repairs, replacements, and re-routes
- Assist Reliability Engineers as requested for field walk-downs and system evaluations
- Develop scope of work packages for construction, address construction questions, provide feedback to construction management and controls
- Develop estimates and proposals for design work
- Assist other design departments as requested
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required
Industry Skills
- Some structural design experience preferred
- Understands basic project execution process required
- Familiarity with field evaluations of existing piping systems preferred
- Ability to hand-sketch piping isometric preferred
