The Manager, Data Analytics is a member of the Portfolio Reporting team, which is a group of high visibility and importance to the Company and its senior management, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Regional Presidents. The primary focus of the Portfolio Reporting team is to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s leasing and occupancy results, including full analysis and understanding of trends and key metrics. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing recurring and ad-hoc projects under significant time constraints. Success in this capacity will require effective coordination and communication across numerous departments throughout the Company.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Identifying key information, including locating where it is stored and how data can be efficiently extracted from the Company’s various software applications
    • Determining an effective method for aggregating the data, including which systems or tools will be useful and efficient in structuring and presenting the data
    • Leveraging knowledge of data management and systems to support ad hoc reporting requests from senior management and various departments across the Company
    • Collaborating with the team to identify potential issues related to ad hoc requests and investigate solutions and/or inefficiencies within related processes
    • Developing a project plan that clearly defines timetable, key end users, progress tracking, recommendation of a solution(s), and report implementation / execution
    • Effective and timely communication of project status
    • Sharing of knowledge / best practices learned upon understanding processes around the Company
    • Collect, structure and analyze relevant large data sets using the Company’s technology systems to identify drivers and trends and/or improve the efficiency of reporting such information
    • Focus on continuous improvement and automation of data-collecting and reporting processes to identify weaknesses or inefficiencies and recommend effective solutions
    • Liaise with the Information Technology department and serve as the team’s project manager on shared projects/tasks
    • Manage all assigned projects or tasks by effectively communicating progress, identifying issues/delays, and proposing solutions
    • Work with senior management and the regions to understand the needs of the Company and to ensure ad hoc reporting requests are managed as described above
    • Undertake other ad hoc reporting tasks or special projects as and when required by the Vice President, Financial Reporting
    • Utilize advanced preparation and visualization tools to present ideas to end users that are summarized and allow for effective decision-making by the Company’s management

Required Skills & Experience:

    • BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Management or related technical field
    • Degree in Accounting/Finance or Economics or relevant work experience a plus
    • Minimum of 4 years job-related experience, real estate experience a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on issue identification and process improvement
    • Experience manipulating and structuring large data sets to find usable information and employ graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data
    • Ability to work effectively across an organization; building and maintain positive productive relationships and being accepted as a business partner
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to listen to the needs of all stakeholders and ability to present issues and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
    • Ability to see the big picture as well as ability to know when to and how to drill down into details when necessary 
    • Expert knowledge of Excel (e.g. macros, pivot tables, visualizations)
    • Knowledge of JDE, Salesforce preferred; knowledge of PowerBI, SQL and/or Python a plus
    • Team approach with positive attitude

    • Interest in developing broad knowledge of company operations and seeking continuous process improvement
