Your Job:
The primary role of the Senior Footwear Cost Engineer, Asiais to support Footwear Costing Team to collect and validate process cycle time, worker count and material loss in sample rooms and/or production floor at footwear factories and vendors versus cost sheets on a seasonal basis. This role will focus on analyzing the cost structure of footwear products, challenging any irregular or inconsistent data, observing and reporting out improvement opportunities for cost savings. You will be responsible for identifying key efficiency improvement opportunities and making recommendations to management. You wil collaborate with the factory costing teams to build seasonal mold sheets to align to capacity and forecast. This role will work closely with product engineer, commercialization engineer and QA team to ensure accurate cost assessments and drive efficiency in our production processes. Strong communication skills in local language and English is required for this role.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collect hourly output, worker count and material waste information for new processes at factory and/or vendors’ sites during sample stages and provide data to Footwear Costing Analysts to help them validate and finalize seasonal product costing and material pricing.
- Compare efficiency of processes and material usage across products/factories/vendors and identify opportunities for improvement during sample development stages.
- Identify efficiency improvement opportunities through data collection phases at factory groups and vendors and make recommendations to managements. Collaborate with Product Engineers and Commercialization Engineers to seek out opportunities to validate the recommended changes and to capture potential savings with the support from managements.
- Compare and validate the data collected during sample development stages and production floor and identify additional efficiency saving opportunities to Costing Analyst team to determine if additional material/process savings can be captured.
- Work closely with Development and Commercialization teams to achieve an in-depth understanding of Brooks’ product construction methods and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with factory costing team to create seasonal mold sheets based on monthly capacity, size curve and annual forecast. Validate and approve seasonal mold quantities requested by factory groups based on mold constructions and monthly output data collected during sample stages.
- Travel frequently to vendors’ factory sites to collect data when needed. Share time between our local-based footwear factories and suppliers in/around the areas.
- Continually learn new and modern manufacturing techniques.
- Participate in weekly meetings at factory locations to be aware of and analyze cost impact of potential changes
- Provide data on new processes and/or differences between multi-sourced processes to Costing team via regular monthly reports and presentations to communicate seasonal cost analysis findings to management.
- Compile seasonal data collected from Footwear teams and report out seasonal cost learnings to cross functional teams at the end of each development season
- Maintain and update seasonal costing handbook.

Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, Finance/Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in footwear development, engineering, manufacturing, and/or costing. 2+ year of costing experience required with track record of significant costing improvements
- Knowledge of footwear construction and manufacturing processes and costing including strong understanding of cost drivers
- Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, be results-oriented and work within a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – especially negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in both local language and English.
- Intermediate proficiency using MS Excel and Basic proficiency with MS PowerPoint
- Willing to travel when necessary
- Ability to work professionally and efficiently with all key departments including US development, Asia Development, Commercialization, Production, and QA
