NOTE: This is initially a 1-year contract role (not a Brooks employee) with potential to convert to a long term, full-time role at the conclusion of the contract.
Your Job:
As an Assistant Coach for the Brooks Beasts you will play a key role in managing programing, resourcing, and recruiting for the Brooks Beasts Track Club. You will collaborate with the team’s coaching staff to oversee training for the women’s team on a day-to-day basis, identify key talent for recruitment to the team, and develop a strong performance program to achieve success at the highest levels in the sport. Although your focus will primarily be on the women’s team, your general responsibilities will cover supporting athletes across the full Brooks Beasts team. Finally, you will work closely with the Brooks Sports Marketing team to support brand efforts to engage the Brooks Beasts team and athletes with marketing and product initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Brooks Beasts Track Club
- Collaborate with the Beasts team staff in leading daily practices, pre/post practice sessions, strength training, and injury prevention programs.
- Support in the development of athlete specific training programs, race planning, and annual competition and event calendar.
- Coordinate ongoing meetings with women’s team athletes to evaluate training, goals, and race planning for the year.
- Lead in scouting talent for the next generation of Brooks Beasts female athletes.
- Work closely with the Beasts staff and Brooks sports marketing team in arranging athlete visits and building relationships with both athletes and coaches in the recruiting process.
- Manage athlete travel planning, debrief meetings, training plan execution and race execution for Brooks Beasts women’s team.
- Facilitate the identification of new educational topics and areas for performance development.
- Attend major competitions, press events, and appearances domestically and internationally to support athletes.
- Manage planning and accommodations for Beasts women’s team trips and camps.
- Support Beasts men’s team as needed in training, racing, and team programming.
- Facilitate the long-term development of the Beasts team through NIL athlete support, onboarding, and ongoing communication with other Brooks athlete teams.
- Brooks Marketing
- Support key brand moments where the Beasts can amplify the brand such as product launches and brand events (PR Invitational, Olympic Trials, etc.) and ensure scheduling aligns to include Beast participation.
- Collaborate with Beasts staff, Sports Marketing, and content creators in the development of Beasts team content for Beasts social media and athlete channels.
- Assist in the management of the Beasts team social media channels and dissemination of content to Beasts athletes.
- Facilitate scheduling for Beasts athletes in Brooks brand appearances.
- Engage with Sports Marketing to support athlete involvement and scheduling for brand activations, media engagements, internal Brooks promotion, and community/youth events.
- Partner with Sports Marketing team to identify new opportunities for growth for the Beasts team.
- Co-manage Beasts team newsletter and update sharing to Brooks channels.
- Be available for media requests and to create custom Brooks content for marketing as needed, including training advice, stretching tips, strengthening, and preventative exercises.
- Coordinate marketing and product team scheduling around wear testing, marketing campaign work, biomechanic testing, and other on-site engagements at practice or racing.
- Collaborate with Sports Marketing team to support local Brooks events and activations.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, sports management, communications, etc.
- 3+ years of college or professional coaching promotion preferred
- Strong management, presentation, and communication skills
- Must possess the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Proven initiative and organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work professionally and efficiently with company partners, athletes, and coaches
- Computer proficiency required with MS office - i.e. PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel
- Skilled in social media and ideally familiar with brand marketing
- A passion for the running enthusiast and active lifestyle
- Deep understanding of the running community and familiarity of the professional side of the sport
- Ability to travel frequently (16+ weeks a year) to all team-related training camps, tier 1 competitions, and events – both domestic and international
Compensation: Pay is $68-80k as a contractor (not a Brooks employee).

Location- You will spend 3 days per week in our Seattle offices, as we believe our organization flourishes when connections, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and celebrations happen in person.
