 Your Job:
 The Sports Marketing Specialist plays an important role in supporting the planning and execution of marketing programs and activations that connect with key audiences, including runners, athletes, and local communities. This role helps bring our brand to life through in-person events and activations, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and effective execution. As a Sports Marketing Specialist, you will assist with consumer-facing activations that position Brooks as a premium running brand. You’ll support crew initiatives and help implement local marketing efforts that align with brand guidelines. You will also serve as a key point of contact for athletes in our Sports Marketing program, supporting day-to-day communications and helping with logistics and program needs.

Your Responsibilities:

    • EVENTS AND RUNNER ACTIVATIONS
    • Support cross-functional teams at Brooks in building and executing integrated marketing programs and consumer activations.
    • Scout and propose relevant events to include in the marketing plan.
    • Coordinate the execution of end-consumer events according to the marketing plan, ensuring smooth logistics and on-site support.
    • Track KPIs for events according to type and communicate regular updates to the marketing team.
    • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to track budgets related to event partnerships and activations and prepare monthly reports.
    • Execute Event Marketing events across Italy working closely with local teams and external partners.
    • Identify potential run crews, events, partners and athletes in the market and propose to Marketing Manager.   Support activation planning with run crews in the market to engage end consumers effectively.
    • Contribute to project plans by identifying tasks, deliverables, and timelines to support successful brand activations.
    • Serve as a point of contact for event requests that fall outside seasonal programs (Tech Rep support, social media campaigns, content partnerships) by assisting in gathering information and communicating the next steps.
    • Work closely with Creative, Product and Sales to deliver effective merchandising plans for events and activations where applicable.
    • Collaborate with the Event & Communication Specialist to ensure the right visibility pre-during and post events.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the local Event agency, if engaged, including briefing and development, activation reports and status meetings to ensure alignment with activation or event objectives. Partner with the event agency on new ideas to proactively seek out opportunities to reach new runners.

    • BROOKS ATHLETES
    • Work on the local rollout of the sports marketing plan.
    • Support Sports Marketing at trail and road races to crew our athletes and at Brooks athletes Project training camps.
    • Assist Brooks athletes with various requests such as travel invoices and product orders.
    • Take part in planning the yearly calendar together with the Brooks Trail and Road Project staff (including selections, training camps, races.
    • Collaborate with PR Team on athlete “moments” including interviews, appearances, events, etc.
    • Work closely with creative, social and digital teams to integrate athlete content and brand storytelling  
    • Identify key athlete moments and partner with Internal Communications to share with Brooks employees.
    • Be a main point of contact for athletes in our Sports Marketing program, supporting communications, logistics and other requests. 
    • Estimate product needs for seeding Brooks Athletes.
    • Monitor and report on sports marketing budget spend for regular updates.
    • Other responsibilities as required.

Your Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications or related field desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 1+ years of relevant sales and/or marketing experience (brand, footwear, retail, lifestyle & event experience preferred).
    • Familiarity with the running/trail market.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
    • Flexibility to handle unexpected projects and a demonstrated willingness to help others.
    • Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
    •  Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks and not afraid to get “your hands dirty.”
    • Ability to travel, minimum of 15 weekends per year.
