Summary
The Director, College & Career Success is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the South Los Angeles YouthSource Center and the Brotherhood Crusade Trauma Informed college access program. The incumbent will develop and establish a post-secondary program including outreach, recruitment, monthly case management with students, teaching and providing provision of services to a cohort of students and parents with college awareness advising sessions, monthly workshops, processing scholarship applications, scholarship checks, and/or events on a weekly basis.
The goal of the South Los Angeles YouthSource Center and the Brotherhood Crusade Trauma Informed Youth Development Program is to provide services to youth who are engaged in improving their life by developing social and vocational skills that lead to self-reliance and subsequently advance their career objectives. The Director, College & Career Success will work with the YouthSource and Brotherhood Crusade Directors Leadership team to develop collaborative efforts that directly establish and instruct appropriate curriculum in partnership with employers and workforce training institutions. This position guides the work of staff that assist youth in achieving their individual employment and college plans as it relates to their readiness to succeed in college, interviews, internships and job placement.
Essential Duties
1, Strategize implementation and plan for achieving outcomes as required by various grants and Brotherhood Crusade.
2. Develop measures for bench-marking achievement of milestones and progress indicators along the way .
3. Foster collaboration opportunities with community partners to identify and develop quality programming to meet the needs of the community.
4. Provide regular outcome and evaluation reports as requested and prepare reports for Brotherhood Crusade senior management.
5. Establish effective relationships with private, non-profit and community partners.
6. Develop programs and activities to motivate participant’s participation and retention.
7. Monitor departmental budget and track expenditures.
8. Manage staff; hire, train and develop staff.
9. Responsible for program plan and implementation
$80,000 - $90,000 a year
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
Due to our in-person and in office work with LAUSD, City of LA, County of LA and other work partners that require our team to be vaccinated we require that all potential candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated with either, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED
The successful candidate will be required to report to and work from the office complex at least five days a week. Offices are traditionally equipped with computers, telephones, desks, chairs, and office machines. Additionally, each office offers an instructional classroom from which orientations and trainings are conducted.
SALARY RANGE:
Benefits and salary will be negotiated based on experience, education, and the needs of the program.

This program is unique in that the successful candidate may be working with individuals who, heretofore, have never been exposed to the subject matter and, as such, may not readily adopt the precepts or methodologies. Moreover, these clients may exhibit stress-related emotions such as tension, frustration, and anger. The successful candidate must understand this phenomenon and possess a psychologically stable profile and a demeanor that minimizes the opportunity that these emotions will escalate to conflict.

Must be available to work Monday- Friday from 9:00am – 5:30pm.
