BTS Bioenergy is seeking an experienced Anaerobic Digestion Plant Manager or a Plant Manager from a similar process plant background such as wastewater, energy, oil and gas, chemical or food and beverage. The Plant Manager oversees the entire operation of the site, ensuring that all activities—across anaerobic digestion (AD), wastewater, gas upgrading, feedstock operations and related processes—are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational objectives. It includes a wastewater treatment plant and anaerobic digestion plant utilizing food waste to produce biomethane. This role is responsible for site-wide leadership, operational oversight, and regulatory compliance. This role leads the site team to deliver operational excellence, achieve production goals, maintain environmental and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement. The Plant Manager embodies the company's core competencies, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational discipline. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide overall leadership for plant operations, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, quality, and productivity goals are met or exceeded.
- Lead and develop the site leadership team to deliver strong results through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Implement and uphold the organization’s competencies, modeling behaviors in the areas of Team Communications, Building Teams and Leading Others, Accountability & Discipline, Safety & Integrity, Critical Thinking & Improvement, and Strategic Agility and Thinking.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data and root cause analysis to optimize plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Oversee maintenance, production, wastewater, and feedstock operations to ensure reliable and efficient processes.
- Manage plant budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures to ensure financial performance targets are achieved.
- Partner with corporate leadership to align plant priorities with company strategy and business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in process manufacturing, utilities, energy, or related industry.
- Management experience in process plant facilities (e.g., anaerobic digestion, wastewater, or similar)
- Proven track record of leading large, cross-functional teams and achieving operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to use data-driven decision making to improve processes and results.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and deliver financial performance targets.
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
