Role Description
The Commercial Account Manager plays a crucial role in the efficient management of feedstock sourcing, contract administration, and logistics coordination within our company's commercial division. This role is vital to our mission of transforming organic waste into renewable energy. The Commercial Account Manager will lead customer relationship management and innovative feedstock sourcing strategies that directly impact digester performance and operational success. The successful Commercial Accounts Manager requires a dynamic individual with a blend of sales acumen, operational awareness, and strong interpersonal skills. This position is based on site at our Maryland Organics Recovery Center, located at 4701 Trident Court in Halethorpe, MD 21227, and reports directly to the Senior Director of Organics.

·Oversee scheduling, inventory, and quality of inbound organic waste deliveries
·Track all incoming feedstock, flag missed or under-delivered loads, and ensure proper ticketing for invoicing
·Communicate and resolve quality or scheduling issues with feedstock providers
·Build and maintain relationships with feedstock suppliers and commercial partners
·Lead onboarding for new customers (contracts, insurance, scale system setup)
·Collaborate with accounting to ensure timely collection of unpaid invoices
·Travel to client sites to support training and implementation of food waste separation programs
·Collect and manage historical and forecasted feedstock data using Office365 and web-based tools
·Ensure accurate recordkeeping and resolve administrative discrepancies
·Negotiate and enforce contract terms with suppliers and customers
·Serve as liaison between commercial, operations, and external partners to align on feedstock needs and logistics
·Coordinate with Director of Organics on digestate loading and transportation
·Support lab submissions and supply requests for inbound material sampling
·Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation on feedstock and customer performance
·Ensure compliance with internal protocols and relevant regulations
·Represent BDC with professionalism and a commitment to environmental responsibility
·Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications

·5+ years of experience in account management, business development, or logistics (preferably in the waste or recycling industry)
·Proven ability to manage complex contracts, client relationships, and operational workflows
·Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
·Ability to travel locally most days, with occasional overnight stays
·Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
·Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
·Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business, or related field
·Experience in waste handling, recycling, anaerobic digestion or source-separated organics
·Familiarity with relevant regulations (EPA, MDE, DOT)

·Outdoor work in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust)

·Frequent use of laptops, mobile devices, and inspection tools
·Must wear PPE (respirators, goggles, steel-toed boots)
·Clear communication in noisy environments via radio and in-person
·Visual acuity for detailed documentation and large-scale inspections
