Project Manager & Drywall Estimator

The Estimator is responsible for all aspects of estimating in our Level5 drywall and insulation division. Estimating efforts would include pre-construction, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, contractor and subcontractor relations, and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating.

Responsibilities:

    • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
    • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
    • Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
    • Determine labor and construction equipment costs
    • Prepare conceptual estimates
    • Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
    • Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
    • Compare competitive trade bids
    • Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager. Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)
    • Participate in bid compilation on bid day
    • Assist job site staff with estimates after bid award
    • Perform post-bid buyouts (if applicable)
    • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
    • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years of project engineering or related experience
    • Knowledgeable in plaster
    • Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
    • Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations
    • Working knowledge of construction costs and principles
    • Estimating experience (quantity takeoffs, preconstruction experience; engineering design knowledge, and project management experience desirable)
    • Drafting and computer skills
    • Solid understanding of metal framing/drywall construction, processes, systems, and codes.
$125,000 - $150,000 a year
