The Business Development Director will lead the acquisition of new clients and business sectors in San Francisco.  The ideal candidate is creative, innovative, enthusiastic - with a hands-on, proactive attitude and proven record of securing, retaining and growing accounts.

Responsibilities:

    • Identify, prioritize, qualify and secure new business opportunities, including those from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows and other networking opportunities.
    • Cultivate and grow business relationships with current and potential clients.
    • Conduct research to identify and develop a pipeline of opportunities.
    • Maintain database of prospective client information, leads and opportunities.
    • Lead business development events for select target clients.
    • Partner with leadership and Marketing to respond to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
    • Work with project teams from verbal award to contract execution to understand client needs, provide solutions, and nurture deals to a favorable close.
    • Other projects/responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

    • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Construction, Marketing, Architecture or related field.
    • 8+ years of business development experience, preferably in construction, engineering, architecture, real estate, or related industry.
    • Proactive, out-of-the-box thinker with a can-do attitude.
    • Proven leadership, passionate about setting and exceeding goals and KPIs.
    • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves self-starter, with flexibility as well as ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment. 
    • Demonstrated business acumen; curious about organizational systems and structures, business strategies, and industry trends.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with demonstrated influence and diplomacy at all levels.
    • Strong written and verbal communicator, including dynamic and persuasive presentation skills.
$130,000 - $150,000 a year
