Robotics Engineer — Field Optimization

Built’s robots are deployed today across the $1 trillion earthmoving industry, and they’re being used to build critical infrastructure such as wind farms, gas pipelines, and new housing developments.


    • Design, develop, test bolt-on features to our autonomous construction equipment in the field
    • Design and optimize high-level planners and controls for new construction tasks
    • Optimize robot task cycle times
    • Triage field issues and work to reduce robot downtime to maximize autonomous working hours
    • Create and manage a QA process for releasing updates to working robots in the field
    • Develop and maintain code quality standards and best practices
    • Participate in shaping the product road map and deploy code every day


    • BS, MS or PhD in computer science or related work experience
    • 2+ years of software development experience
    • Proficiency in Python
    • Experience with distributed systems
    • Controls experience
    • Experience in various engineering fields is a plus, (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer, Systems, Aerospace)
    • Knowledge of computer vision is a plus
