Bumble is expanding its analytics engineering function and we are looking for experienced analytics engineers to help us build out our data infrastructure, ways of working, and modernise our data stack. We are looking for individuals passionate about designing creative solutions to balance bespoke in-house solutions and external tools to best reflect the needs of the data organisation and help drive data governance, quality, and availability.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Deliver a robust data model for your chosen domain that abides by best practices and frameworks, helping to aid data discoverability, accessibility, manipulation, and reporting.
    • You will be a data steward and owner of a decentralised data network, ensuring governance is to the highest standard across your domain’s  lineage, with robust documentation.
    • You will be a key partner with data engineering and ETL teams, and translate technical requirements into non-technical outcomes and vice versa.
    • You will optimise our reporting to reflect consistency in sources of truth, and align stakeholders in your domain on definitions of metrics and dimensions.
    • You will drive the success of our self service programme to help educate non-technical stakeholders on the usage of our tools in your domain.
    • You will design creative solutions and propose new tooling and methods to reduce friction in the  data flow process reflective of the needs of your domain.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • You can break down and explain complex processes, requirements and data pipelines to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll have demonstrable experience in presenting these solutions across varying levels of stakeholder seniority.
    • You will have many examples of designing processes, frameworks, and best practices for more junior teams that help drive standardisation and uniformity across data manipulation, documentation, and orchestration.
    • You have worked with multiple data visualisation and transformation tools, with preference for dbt, airflow, fivetran, and tableau/powerbi/looker or similar. You have extensive experience with data transformation using dbt, and are either certified or an expert in the tool and its standards.
    • You will have experience with QAing data pipelines using Montecarlo or similar.
    • You will have extensive experience with documentation using Jira, Confluence, or similar.
    • You are an expert in SQL and Python and are willing to upskill teams on best practices.
    • You can manipulate large datasets, combining data from multiple sources to obtain the required results.
    • You will have experience in presenting findings to varying audiences (technical and non-technical stakeholders) and catering presentation style appropriately.
    • You will have a structured mindset and way of working that does not shy away from owning and leading projects using strong project management principles
    • You will have a working knowledge of design thinking & agile methodologies
    • R or python knowledge: pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, IPython/JupyterData Visualisation: D3.js, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly, ggplot (any of the above)
